Indian Land High School’s varsity basketball coach, Lawrence “LJ” Johnson, has been leading the Warriors’ program since the 2022-2023 season, bringing over two years of dedication and leadership to the team. A Union County, N.C., native, Johnson also contributes to the football program and teaches business classes at ILHS. Prior to joining Indian Land, he led Harding University High School in Charlotte to a 56-22 record over four seasons, earning three playoff bids, a regional tournament title, and a coach of the year award. Johnson’s extensive experience includes a successful tenure as an assistant coach at Butler High School, where his teams achieved significant postseason success. Passionate about the hardworking athletes and competitive environment at Indian Land, Johnson remains committed to fostering excellence both on and off the court.
